The weather in Latvia will be cool, often windy and snowy in the next few days, but it is forecast to get much warmer next week, according to forecasts.
On Thursday, strong north-westerly wind gusts of 15-20 meters per second are expected in many places, with snow and drizzle at times, but snow cover will only reach a few centimeters in places.
Snow is also expected at times on Friday and Saturday. Air temperatures will remain mostly below freezing in eastern Latvia, but in central and western Latvia frost is expected mainly at night and above freezing during the day.
Next week, westerly winds will prevail, often gusty. Precipitation will also increase, but will mostly be rain as the weather warms up. Temperatures will be mostly in the 2-7 degree range above zero on weekdays, with some days around 0 degrees in the east, while in western and central Latvia temperatures may rise to 8-9 degrees on some days.
