Latvian science researcher Inta Gribonika has achieved a landmark for which many scientists strive for decades – publication in the prestigious international journal Nature .
“Combining my knowledge and laboratory interest, I independently created an antibody research platform, where I focused on the skin microbiome. In short, I discovered that beneficial bacteria can induce the production of specific antibodies in the skin itself, without lymph node involvement or signs of inflammation,” Inta told LSM.
Describing the publication as ” a great honor”, Inta added that she wanted it “to serve as an inspiration to all young Latvian scientists, children who study in small rural schools, and the nation as a whole, because this is not just my achievement – it is the contribution of my parents, the work of my elementary school teachers, and the merit of all those people who have been by my side. Latvians can!”
