The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) has received 51 political party reports for 2024. KNAB has initiated 13 administrative offence proceedings for failure to submit the annual report within the deadline or in the procedure established by law, KNAB said on 9 April.
The information available to KNAB shows that there are 62 political organisations in Latvia which, according to the Law on Financing of Political Organisations (Parties), had to submit their annual report for 2024 by 31 March. KNAB received the annual report from 49 political parties within the deadline and in accordance with the procedure laid down by the law. Two political parties submitted their annual report after the deadline.
KNAB did not receive the annual reports 2024 of 13 political parties within the deadline or in accordance with the procedure laid down by the law: “APVIENĪBA JAUNLATVIEŠI”, “Atmoda”, “Jaunā Saskaņa”, “Kustība “Par!”, “Latvija pirmajā Vietā”, “PAMATS-LV”, “Vienoti Latvijai”, “Par cilvēcīgu Latviju”, “Republika”, “Tautas varas force”, “Rīcības partija”, “Tauta. Zeme. Valstiskums.” and “TAUTAS KALPI LATVIJAI”. KNAB has initiated administrative offence proceedings against these political parties.
Parties that fail to submit their annual report may face suspension or termination of their activities.
Political parties that receive funding from the state budget may face suspension of the payment of this funding for failure to submit an annual report.
