The animated film “Flow” has now been watched by more than 6 million people worldwide, and almost 358,000 in Latvia. The film’s awards will be on display at the Cēsis Concert Hall until 11 April, after which they will travel to Valmiermuiža and the Valmiera Museum, Latvian Television reported on 8 April.

Queues outside the Cēsis Concert Hall are not common, but as in Rīga recently, one formed on Tuesday in Cēsis. The three most prestigious awards won by the animated film “Flow” – the European Film Academy Award, the Golden Globe and the Oscar – are on display there.

“The Oscars and other awards arrived in Cēsis on Monday, and then the meticulous work of setting them up began – every centimetre was measured, and lighting was adjusted. The weight of the Oscars in particular was amazing. I later found out that it was almost four kilogrammes. The feeling was very overwhelming,” said Inese Zagorska, Artistic Director of the Cēsis Concert Hall.

A queue formed at the door with people eager to see with their own eyes the important film awards for Latvia.

As in many other Latvian cinemas, “Flow” has become the most watched film of all time at the Cēsis cinema – around 5,500 people have seen it.

After 11 April, the awards will go to Valmiermuiža brewery, then to the Valmiera Museum.
