Estonia’s new car tax is entering into effect on January 1, prompting a flurry of new and used vehicle sales in the final months of 2024.As the year draws to a close, however, some cars are already sold out, while time is up for other buyers.
Saturday was already a quiet day at an Amserv dealership that sells Toyotas.Even so, December will still mark the peak month of the pre-car tax buying rush, when new car sales were up severalfold.
Many old cars were also traded in for more lightly used ones, and diesel car sales soared, accounting for as much as 70 percent of car sales last month.
