The number of Estonian e-residents from the United Kingdom has tripled since Brexit.

Britons with e-residencies have set up around 500 businesses, the Estonian public broadcaster ERR News  quotes   BNS. There are now 3,100 UK citizens with an e-residency, three times more than in March 2017.

The ability to have a company registered in the EU is now one of they key selling points after Brexit, according to ERR.

E-Residency, established in 2014, is a status provided by Estonia to people who are neither citizens nor residents, but want to register a company and use Estonia’s online services and have their own Estonian digital ID card.

The scheme does not grant Estonian residency or citizenship.
