The new Rīga Ferris wheel “Riga Rise” will open on Thursday, 17 April, LSM.lv reports.
The 65-metre-high Ferris wheel is expected to be open in all seasons, as its cabins are equipped with both air conditioning and heating. It will be able to accommodate 240 passengers at a time – eight per cabin.
A ride on the Ferris wheel will last 15 minutes and will cost €17 for adults, €13 for children aged 3-12, €15 for students with an ISIC card and €15 for pensioners. There will also be various discounts for certain groups of visitors, such as several types of family tickets. All tickets will be available from the ticket office at the foot of the wheel.
The Panorama Wheel will be open on Thursdays from 13:00 to 21:00 and from Friday to Monday from 11:00 to 23:00.
During the construction of the Ferris wheel, a part of the historical Uzvaras Park between Uzvaras Boulevard, Raņķa Dambis, Slokas Street and Aleksandra Grīna Boulevard was also landscaped.
As reported numerous times by LSM, the opening of the Ferris wheel has been rather delayed as it was initially promised to open as early as August 2024.
