Thursday will still be cold and windy in Latvia

The weather in Latvia on Thursday will be windy and cold, with snow in places, according to forecasts.

The sky will clear overnight, with frequent sunshine throughout Latvia, but snow will fall in places in all regions, with a few centimetres of snow. Roads will be slippery.

North-north-westerly wind gusts 14-19 metres per second, up to 20-23 metres per second on the coast during the first half of the night.

This wind may cause minor damage, breaking off some trees and their branches.

Minimum air temperature at night -5 to 9 degrees, 1 to 2  degrees in coastal areas, maximum during the day 0 to 5 degrees.

In Rīga it will snow briefly at times, but the sun will shine during the day. Strong northerly, northwesterly winds, gusting 16-19 metres per second, at night up to 20-23 metres per second, are expected. Minimum air temperature at night around 0 degrees, maximum during the day up to 2 C to 3 C.
