Scammers have sent fraudulent emails to Latvian citizens over the weekend, asking them to update their personal data. Swedbank urges customers not to fall for the scammers’ calls and under no circumstances to respond to them. The bank does not send emails to customers demanding the renewal of personal data.
According to reports received from the bank’s customers, the fraudsters targeted people’s work email addresses with fraudulent emails over the weekend. That is why a large part of the population is confronted with this fake e-mail on Monday, at the start of the working week. Swedbank reminds you that the bank will never send an email asking you to update your personal data. If there is a need to do so, the bank will communicate with the customer via internet banking, where it will also be possible to enter the data.
If customers do enter their data, the bank asks them to contact it immediately and block their access to online banking and/or payment cards.
