How about trying a contemporary, experimental fix of art this weekend?

The 7th music and arts festival Laba Daba (Good Nature) will take place August 5 to 7 after a two-year pandemic break. The festival takes place in Ratnieki, near Līgatne. Laba daba is a hub for music diversity, especially for those who enjoy discovering alternative, lesser known artists. Program and more information:    www.labadaba.lv  .

The Valmiera Theater has launched its 100th season of performances with a summer festival from August 4 to 7. The theme of the festival is free thinking and creative independence. The program includes concerts, exhibitions, experimental performances, and theatrical art. More information on  valmierasfestivals.lv.

The LOW Gallery (Vagonu Street 21, Rīga) is hosting a new exhibition, opening on August 5. The ‘Synchronicities’ group exhibition is described as ‘a contemporary hybrid flirting with art, performance, design and architecture, an attempt at sorting out the clash between trendy spiritual awakening versus a more genuine kind of awareness and wokeness’. On Friday, the opening of the exhibit, there will be performances starting 18:00.
