The weather is forecast to remain relatively warm over the weekend, according to weatherman Toms Bricis.
Friday morning will be colder than Thursday, with clearer skies and temperatures around 0 degrees in most of the country, down to -3 C in Vidzeme. Roads will be icy in some places.
On Friday, the sun will shine in many places, with light rainfall in some places and maximum temperatures of 1 C to 6 C.
South-westerly winds will pick up over the weekend, gusting to 15-17 meters per second along the coast.
Air temperatures at night will range from -1 C in eastern parts of the country to 4 C to 5 C in coastal areas. Saturday will be the warmest of the weekends, with afternoon temperatures reaching 5 C to 8 C in most of the country, and 3 C to 4 C in places in the east. On Sunday afternoon, temperatures will range from 1 C to 2 C in the east to 6 C to 7 C in western Vidzeme and Kurzeme.
The sky will be mostly cloudy over the weekend, with a chance of light showers in Vidzeme on Saturday.
No significant changes are expected at the beginning of the new week.
