Ukrainian residents who have registered with the Rīga Support Center for Ukrainian Civilians will be able to keep their 100% fare discount on Riga public transport until June 30, 2025.
Refugees can receive a 100% discount for the next period at ticket machines located at bus stops or shopping centers. Therefore, public transport company “Rīgas satiksme” invites Ukrainians to go to the ticket machines and load the 100% discount into their existing e-tickets. There is no need to issue a new e-ticket to receive the discount.
Alernatively, the discount can also be issued in person at the client center at Pāles Street 9. When going to the support center, you must bring an identity document, a confirmation of the assignment of a personal code and a personalized e-ticket or Riga resident card, if one has already been issued. If the person does not have an e-ticket, it will be issued during the visit.
Fare reductions on Riga public transport – tram, trolleybus and bus – are available to Ukrainian civilians who have registered with the Riga Support Centre and live in Rīga. Children from Ukraine who have already applied for and received their student card do not need to go anywhere and can continue to use public transport with a 100% discount.
“Rīgas satiksme” reminds that everyone who has been granted a fare discount that they must, when boarding a bus, trolleybus or tram, put the issued e-ticket close to the electronic card reader and register the trip. Registered e-tickets must be presented to ticket inspectors upon request.
