President Vejonis not to attend Davos Forum

President Raimonds Vejonis will not attend the World Economic Forum in Davos in January Presidential spokespeople explained that participation in the Davos Forum is not on the president’s January agenda. The annual World Economic Forum in the Swiss mountain resort Davos is scheduled to take place from January 22 to 25. Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis (Greens/Farmers) and Finance Minister Dana Reizniece-Ozola (Greens/Farmers) attended the Davos Forum last year.  

Latvia ranks 42nd, Lithuania — 40th and Estonia — 32nd

Latvia ranks 42nd in the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Global Competitiveness Index, still lagging behind Lithuania and Estonia, according to the latest WEF Global Competitiveness Report. Lithuania ranked 40th this year and Estonia ranked 32nd.
