Saeima today approved in principle amendments to the Constitution that say the presidential elections will be done by open ballot. 82 Saeima members voted for the bill, Askolds Klavins (Greens/Farmers) voted against it, while Valdis Kalnozols (Greens/Farmers), Viktors Valainis (Greens/Farmers) and Juris Vectirans (Greens/Farmers) did not vote.
