Over the past five years, teachers’ self-assessment of the quality of professional has decreased sharply, the Latvian Education and Science Workers Union (LIZDA) told LETA February 23. Latvian teachers’ trade union starts procedure of strike

The council of the Latvian Trade Union of Education and Science Employees (LIZDA) today decided to launch the procedure of strike because it has not feel confident that the government this year will follow the agreed timetable on raising teachers’ wages.
