October 8 saw the largest daily increase so far in confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Latvia, with 109 new cases registered. Latvia detected three new cases of COVID-19 on August 31, the total since the start of the pandemic now standing at 1,396 on Monday. No new deaths were recorded, with the fatality toll remaining on 34. The Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) said 1,008 tests had been conducted during the previous 24-hour period.
