Lithuania’s Environment Ministry issued a nationwide emergency alert asking people to stay at home due to high air pollution. “High air pollution levels due to heavy particles were recorded in the country on February 23,” the emergency alert reads. “The poor air quality will remain in the coming days. Lithuanians think climate change, air pollution and piling-up waste are key environmental problems, according to the latest Eurobarometer survey. In the survey, carried out in December, 42 percent of respondent Lithuania named climate change as the main problem, compared to 53 percent in Europe.
