As of Tuesday, 15 April, increased speed limits will be introduced on certain sections of the country’s main roads.

During the winter, the maximum speed limit anywhere in the country is always 90 kilometres per hour (km/h).

The maximum speed limit will be increased to 110 km/h on the Jūrmala motorway (A10) from Rīga to Jūrmala.

A maximum speed of 100 km/h will be allowed on two sections:

From 15 April, the Vidzeme motorway (A2) from Langstiņi to Sigulda, where variable electronic road signs are in operation, will have a maximum speed limit of 110 km/h in good conditions.

The information on the electronic signs will vary depending on the actual driving conditions on the road, which will be determined by the roadside weather stations installed along the motorway.

On the four-lane section of the Ķekava bypass from Krogsils to the Riga bypass crossing, the maximum permitted speed for vehicles weighing up to 7.5 tonnes is 120 km/h.
