One-fifth of the Latvian population received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine

According to the National Health Service, at least one-fifth of the Latvian population have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

On Saturday, 9,967 persons were vaccinated against Covid-19.

According to updated data, 16,041 people were vaccinated against Covid-19 on Friday, 17,888 on Thursday, 19,645 on Wednesday, 16,356 on Tuesday and 8,883 on Monday.

However, the number of people vaccinated in recent days could increase, as not all doctors report data on their vaccines to the system on the same day that the patient is vaccinated.

To date, 379,681 people have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Latvia, but 114,464 people have completed the vaccination process. A total of 494,145 injections of Covid-19 vaccines have administered in the country.

According to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau, at the beginning of March 2021, Latvia had a provisional population of 1.889 million, so 20.10 percent of the population have received the first vaccine dose against Covid-19, but 6.06 percent have completed the vaccination process.
