Naval orchestra to entertain Jēkabpils, Daugavpils and Ludza

Latvia’s National Armed Forces Navy Orchestra has a mini-tour planned with free concerts to please the public in the cities of Jēkabpils, Daugavpils and Ludza.

On May 20 at 7:00 PM in Jēkabpils People’s Hall, on May 21 at 6:00 PM in Daugavpils Unity House and on May 22 at 6:00 PM in Ludza Culture House, the National Armed Forces Navy Orchestra invites the public to concerts titled “Momentum”, continuing the concert tour dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the orchestra’s founding, which will take place in various cities in Latvia until December of this year. Admission to the concerts is free.

The Navy Orchestra is always on the move and continues to develop in many ways. Looking back on its 30 years, the orchestra has prepared an exciting, energetic and colorful anniversary concert program. The overall motto of the entire concert is “movement” – moving forward, which is reflected in the program in various ways.

The program will feature works from not only classical music, but also musicals, film scores, and jazz.

Previously known as the National Armed Forces Big Band, since 2019, it has re-adopted its original name, as well as returning to a more orchestral sound.
