Motorcyclists will cause some disruption in Rīga on Saturday

On Saturday, April 26, the motorcycle ride “Moto Season Opening 2025” will take place in Rīga, the city council has confirmed.

The event has been happening for many years. Motorcyclists get on their motorcycles and drive along a designated route confirming that yes, they own motorcycles. 

As a result of the leather-clad assemblage, vehicle traffic will be closed to other forms of transport on the route of the ride and even on the streets crossing the route from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. causing inevitable, if temporary, disruption to persons not in possession of a motorcycle. 

Public transport traffic on the parade route will be regulated or closed as necessary, and there will be changes to certain public transport routes.

The journey will start at the shopping center “Mols” (at Krasta Street 46), then turn left onto Krasta Street, along Dienvidu bridge, Ziepniekkalnas Street, Mūkusalas Street, Kuģu Street, Trijādības Street, Ranka Dambis and Daugavgrīvas Street to Spilve Airport.

During the parade route, the State Police will regulate or close public transport traffic as necessary. However, certain routes (buses 10; 23; and 26 and trolleybuses 4; 19; and 27) will be diverted along a bypass road from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to avoid the streets where the parade will take place.
