A total of ten Latvian municipalities have decided to organise mobile polling stations for the local elections in June, the Central Election Commission (CVK) announced on 9 May.

The municipalities of Alūksne, Augšdaugava, Balvi, Dobele, Jelgava, Jēkabpils, Olaine, Salaspils and Smiltene, as well as the state city of Rēzekne, will organise mobile polling stations.

Five of these municipalities – Alūksne, Dobele, Jelgava, Olaine and Smiltene – have decided to allow voters to vote at a polling station installed on a bus.

In Rēzekne, both on the previous voting days and on election day, 7 June, it will be possible to vote at various parking lots – outside the Maxima store, the railway station, educational institutions and various other places – at certain times.

In Augšdaugava, Balvi, Jelgava, Jēkabpils and Salaspils municipalities, however, there are certain places where people will be able to vote at certain times in addition to the previously announced polling stations – libraries, schools, community centres and elsewhere.

All polling stations can be found  on the   CVK    website  .

Mobile polling stations may be organised both on the early voting days and on polling day.
