Lithuanian MP shows his pants in online meeting [You touch my tralala]

The parliamentary Committee on Governance and Municipalities was having a perfectly ordinary online meeting on Thursday. A brief incident gingered up the otherwise routine session.

As the meeting was closing to an end, one MP, Bronislovas Matelis of the conservative Homeland Union party, answered a phone call and stood up from his computer.

It then turned out that he was not wearing any trousers, briefly flashing his underwear for everyone to see.

His peers did not seem to make much of it and continued the meeting normally.

Matelis confirmed that he had already put on his trousers. He also said he had not realised anyone saw his underwear until he was contacted by a reporter.

“It’s not like I was naked, I didn’t show all my stuff,” Matelis commented.

He noted that another MP, Kęstutis Masiulis, had been in a similar inconvenience, when he attended a meeting from his bathroom, apparently without realising his camera was on.

“We should have a rule that when there’s a meeting, we should take part from our offices in parliament, there’d be less chance to get caught out,” Matelis said. “When you’re at home, all kinds of things may happen. Not a pleasant incident, but what can you do?”
