Lithuania donated 235,900 doses of Vaxzevria to Taiwan

The Government of Lithuania continues to support third countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. It has decided to provide humanitarian aid and donate 235, 900 doses of Vaxzevria (COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca) to Taiwan.

Lithuania’s Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will organise the shipment to Taiwan.

Lithuania has already donated 200, 000 doses of Vaxzevria to Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, and Armenia, as well as sent 20,000 doses to Taiwan, so far this year.

Lithuania will continue to contribute to the Team Europe Initiatives – the EU actions to tackle the outbreak of COVID-19. The EU is among the leading donors to support the COVAX Facility, a global collaboration aiming to secure access to the COVID-19 vaccine in low and middle-income countries either on bilateral basis or through an EU vaccine sharing mechanism.
