Osvaldas Daugelis, the long-standing director of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis National Museum of Art in Lithuania’s second-largest city of Kaunas, passed away on Sunday at the age of 64.
Daugelis had been struggling with a long illness.
His passing was announced by the museum on its social media accounts.
A Lithuanian art historian and museum specialist, Daugelis led the museum from 1992 until 2019.
He received state awards from Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
