On Saturday, June 5, Latvia recorded 256 new cases of Covid-19 infection, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC). The figure is three fewer than the number recorded Friday.
The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 134,677.
Of 9.367 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 2.7% were positive, up slightly on the 2.7% rate of Friday but in line with recent figures around the 3% mark.
Continuing the encouraging trend of the last two weeks, the 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants fell yet again from 219.2 Friday to 209.4 Saturday.
Unfortunately five deaths were registered Friday, the death toll since the start of the pandemic now reaching 2,407.
Meanwhile in Estonia 63 new Covid-19 cases were confirmed June 5, while in Lithuania the figure was 334.
