According to an SKDS survey, over half of residents believe that human rights are overall being observed in the country. Social networking site Facebook has taken down a page dedicated to Latvian legionnaires that contained photographs, accounts, articles from newspapers and excerpts from books about Latvian soldiers during World War II. The Latvian U18 women’s basketball team yesterday defeated Russia 69:62 in the quarterfinals of this year’s European U18 Women’s Basketball Championships. 20.8% of candidates participating in 13th Saeima elections do not have higher education, according to information from the Central Election Commission’s website.
