Last week around 70,000 people were vaccinated, or an average of around 11,600 people a day. This pace is similar to the week before the Midsummer holiday. Vaccination numbers fell significantly during the festival.
So far, that rate has been the highest in the week of May 24, when about 16,500 people were vaccinated on average daily. As of May 10, over 100,000 people were vaccinated each week for four consecutive weeks in Latvia, but these figures fell significantly in the summer.
The proportion of people choosing to begin the vaccination process is still small. On Saturday, 5,095 individuals received jabs against Covid-19, including 883 people getting their first shot and 4,212 the second, and 891 people got vaccinated with the single-dose vaccine.
