Another shipment of Latvian-made drones – more than 1,000 units – is ready to be sent to Ukraine, according to a post by the Minister of Defense Andris Sprūds (Progressives) on social media December 28.

These are combat drones for various applications, the Minister explained, stressing that together with Latvian drone manufacturers, support to Ukraine continues.

Latvia is the co-leader – along with the United Kingdom – of a ‘drone coalition’ that aims to provide support for Ukraine’s drone capabilities worth 1.8 billion euros in 2024.

20 million euros have been allocated from the Latvian state budget for these purposes this year, and the same amount next year.
