On Monday, July 19, Latvia reported 25 new cases of Covid-19 infection, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC).
The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 138,184.
Of 3,316 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 0.8% were positive. Monday’s figures are usually the lowest of the week in absolute terms as fewer tests are generally carried out on Sundays.
The 14-day cumulative infection rate per 100,000 inhabitants ticked up very slightly from 27.9 Sunday to 28.0 Monday, still just above the level of 20 cases per 100,000 inhabitants which is officially classed as “low risk” under the government’s four-color warning system.
