26 countries now on Latvia’s travel “yellow list”

The updated list of epidemiological requirements for arrivals into Latvia from other countries was published July 30  and includes 26 countries on the list of those deemed to have a “high public health threat”, 19 of which are in the European Union/EEA, including Estonia and Lithuania. Vaccine approved for teenagers in Lithuania

According to BNS, the decision follows the European Medicines Agency’s recommendation that Moderna’s vaccine were authorized for children aged 12 to 17 years. Currently, the two-shot vaccine is administered to people aged 18 years and over. It is the second coronavirus vaccine approved for adolescents in Lithuania after the Pfizer-BioNTech one. The other two vaccines used in the country – AstraZeneca and Janssen – are only given to adults.  

Eurostat estimate: Estonia saw fastest inflation in eurozone in July

On Friday, July 30, Latvia reported 82 new cases of Covid-19 infection, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC). The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 138,799. Of 7,308 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 1.1% were positive.
