The Prosecutor’s Office has launched criminal proceedings in connection with the procurement of Covid-19 vaccines, Prosecutor General Juris Stukāns told Latvian Radio May 27. “Today, the prosecutor decided to initiate criminal proceedings relating to the purchase of vaccines. The government decided May 27 that organization of children’s summer camps and graduations of educational institutions will be permitted. On Thursday, May 27, Latvia recorded 348 new cases of Covid-19 infection, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC). ‘Indian’ Covid-19 variant detected in Latvia for the first time

Last week, one example of the highly contagious ‘Indian’ variant of Covid-19 (B.1.617) virus was detected in Latvia, according to an information report provided to the government.
